《5》Korokan (Part.1)...Ancient Hakata and Korokan
- Hakata (present-day Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture) in Kyushu, the closest city to China in the Japanese archipelago, has developed as a gateway to the Asian continent since ancient times. The ancient guesthouse, Korokan, is a testament to the city's long history as a center for international exchange.
- It was first called Tsukushi-no-Murotsumi (Tsukushi Hall) in 688, when it first made its appearance in history. It was once a diplomatic facility under the direct control of the Dazaifu Government Office, which was in charge of Kyushu's internal affairs and diplomacy.
- In 1987, more than 30 years ago, during renovation work of Heiwadai Stadium, large-scale remains of the Korokan and valuable artifacts were discovered, making a big splash. /
鴻臚館（その１）…古代博多と鴻臚館
- 日本列島で最も中国に近い九州の博多（現在の福岡県福岡市）は、いにしえよりアジア大陸の玄関口として発展してきました。ここが古くから国際交流拠点であったことを物語るものが、古代の迎賓館である「鴻臚館」です。
- 鴻臚館が歴史に姿を現したのは688年で、最初は「筑紫館（つくしのむろつみ）」と呼ばれました。かつて九州の内政・外交をつかさどった大宰府政庁直轄の外交施設でした。
- 今から三十数年前の１９８７年、平和台球場の改修工事中に鴻臚館の大がかりな遺構と貴重な出土品が発見され、大きな話題となりました。
