《7》Korokan (Part.3)...A series of historically valuable artifacts were unearthed
- A variety of artifacts were unearthed from the site one after another, indicating exchange with foreign countries. Chinese ceramics, Silla ceramics, Islamic earthenware brought from far West Asia, Persian glassware, and other items of international flavor have been unearthed one after another.
- A Yuezhou kiln celadon bowl with a floral design, famous for its "secret color celadon" produced in the Shaoxing and Ningbo areas of Zhejiang Province, was unearthed in almost complete form, the first such example in Japan.
- Islamic earthenware and glassware are thought to have been brought to Korokan from China via the Silk Road. It is deeply moving to know that exchange on a large scale took place at a time when, unlike today, there were only limited means of transportation. /
鴻臚館（その３）…歴史的に貴重な出土品が続々
- 遺跡からは、海外との交流を示す多彩な遺物が次々と出土しました。中国製陶磁器や新羅の陶磁器、はるか西アジアから運ばれたイスラム系陶器やペルシャ系のガラス器など、国際色豊かな品々が次々と発掘されました。
- 浙江省の紹興・寧波地区で生産された“秘色青磁”として名高い越州窯青磁の花文碗が、ほぼ完全な形で出土しており、このような例は日本でも初めてのことです。
- イスラム陶器やガラス器は海のシルクロードから中国を経由して鴻臚館にもたらされたと考えられています。現代と異なり限られた交通手段しかない時代に、スケールの大きな交流が行われたことは感慨深いものがあります。
